It's already April and we've been invited back to Balettakademien to enjoy a dance performance choreographed by Milo Johansson. 8 am sharp as usual and don't be late - or you'll miss breakfast from wonderful Garant!
The performance: "The Stanford Experience"
"The Stanford Experience" is based on the classical psychological experiment by prof. Philip Zimbardo at Stanford University 1971, where volunteer students were given the role of prisoner or guard and placed in a constructed prison. The piece discovers and reflects upon how humans and groups act when placed in a set structure, how morals, self worth and empathy gets set aside to oblige the given set of rules. Together with the dancers the audience experience how the individual gets lost in the adaptation of a role already defined by pre-set conditions, and how man unknowingly becomes the monster.
About the choreographer
Milo Johansson is a second year student at the 3 year professional dance education at Balettakademien.
Balettakademien is one of the Nordic region's most prominent dance schools. Many of Sweden's successful dancers, musical artists and choreographers have been educated here. Who knows, maybe we'll be enjoying the work of tomorrows stars?
