#9: The Art of interior design

We headed over to Svenskt Tenn at Strandvägen 5 this January morning to view their fantastic collection of artful craft work and listen to the story of how Svenskt Tenn's founder Estrid Ericson together with Josef Frank built a company with a continuos outflow of great art. How they created the elegant and boldly patterned personal interior design style that continues to pervade the collection to this day. Greeting us with tea in the Svenskt Tenn Tea Room their curator Per Ahldén presented the inspiring work an story of Svenskt Tenn - we look forward to coming back!

ABOUT svenskt tenn

Svenskt Tenn is a Swedish interior design company located on Strandvägen in Stockholm, Sweden. It was founded in 1924 by Estrid Ericson, who recruited Josef Frank to the company 10 years later. The company today maintains a Swedish cultural treasure; Eighty percent of Svenskt Tenn’s collection consists of products that are of their own design. Josef Frank alone left behind 2,000 furniture sketches and about 160 textile designs - the archives are filled to the brim.
